- Mary| 1 replyCalled on 12/26 around dinner time. I did not answer the phone but did a *66 and got this number. When I called them back a woman answered "hello" and I hung up. About 20 minutes later I got another phone call which I again did not answer. When I did a *66, I got the same number. This time when I called back a male voice answered. I asked who this was and he answered Cavalry. I told him I was on the do not call list and asked to be put on their "do not call" list as I did not want to keep being called. He was rude and obnoxious to me and I finally hung up. I think these people must be crooks and I plan to report them for violating the Do Not Call list.

- smittyfamCalled us 12/26. Demanded to talk to my husband, I refused. He asked me how long I was married to him, inferring that my husband was lying about his credit history. I told him that I pay the bills and know our credit. We have nothing outstanding. PERIOD. He was stumbling all over his words, yelling, I was yelling back. I handed the phone to my husband and my husband let him have it. HE WAS RUDE, and was trying to get my husband to confirm his address and social. He refused, the operator hung up on him. It is a total scam!

- treeThis number called me asking to speak to someone else. They wanted me to verify all this information. (I thought to myself... If you don't know the number of the person you are calling for, then they probably don't know you and could care less about you or they gave you the wrong number.) Anyway, I ended up hanging up the phone because I shouldn't have to be interrogated if I am not the person you are calling for. I really don't like to waste time like that... very irritating!
- JohnI kept getting calls from these people for days asking for some Sheila Hashur, who I've never heard of. I finally called their number and they hung up on me twice when I told them to stop calling me. Third time, a nice lady answered and they promised to stop calling within 24 hours. I'm on the DNC list as well. I think that they are a collection agency?
I just filed a complaint with the DNC registry.- Caller: Cavalry
- laurenThis number just called me. I answered and a recording said if I was Troy Leach, press 1; if this is Troy Leach's number and he is not home press 2; If Troy Leach is not at this number call 1-888-716-0010 to advise.
I hung up and the call would not disconnet. The recording kept playing.
I called the number and a women just answered 'hello'. I asked who I was alling and she said Calvery. We were calling for Troy Leach. I said I am no the DNC list and to remove the number/address from their list. She repied they don't have a list. I said he does not live here, I do not know him. She hung up on me.- Caller: Cavalry Portfolio Services, LLC
- nico| 5 repliesWell, they called me. And I was the person they were looking for.
First this message, 'we have an important information for 'My Name', if you are this person, press 1, if you live with this person press 2, if you don't know this person, please call ...
Even though I was this person, I called. I tried to find out which company this was (I should have searched here before!).
But they wouldn't tell me which company this is before I confirmed who I was, and if I ever lived at such address (which I did).
Note that I'm also on the Do Not Call.
They are a collection agency, and I happend to owe Sprint 73 dollars (I guess I could have disputed this 5 years ago, but now it's too late), and they will send me the bill.
The lady said she was called Sheila and worked for Cavalry. She was not rude at all, but I was kind of cooperative (not at first though).
I asked how they got my number and she was rather evasive.- Caller: Cavalry
- KourtniYes. They are a collection agency. They called me.
- KolGot a call from this number yesterday, and then today at 12:40 pm and 7:33 pm. My husband answered the 7:33 call and got that message, "if you are so-and-so, press one; if the number is right and so-and-so isn't home, press 2; if so-and-so doesn't live at this address anymore, please call 1-888-716-0010 ..." So, my husband called the number the message provided. A woman picked up and he tried to explain that he'd just gotten a call from them, but she rudely cut him off to demand if the number was wrong number because people only called if it was the wrong number (...duh???). He told her the person they'd asked for didn't live at our address. She hung up.
We actually know the guy who moved out of our place six months ago. But although our number is listed with our name, our address isn't listed. We were confused that someone would connect the old tenant's name and address with a brand new number that's only associated with our name and not the address.
We're lodging a complaint. - Al BrothersPeople, the ONLY way to stop them from calling is with a "Cease Communications" letter. If you don't send them the letter, they will continue to call you for a minimum of two years.

- Al Brothers| 1 replySome of you are under the impression that the "Do Not Call Registry" applies to collection agencies. IT DOES NOT. Collection agencies are exempt.
Just write the Cease Communications letter and send it registered mail.
The letter makes it against the law for them to call you again.- Caller: Cavalry Portfolio Services

- toadThey've been calling (automated) for a couple of weeks, asking for a name that's not ours...same call others here have posted. No 'press X' option for telling them they're barking up the wrong tree. I called them back today - third time - and actually got a person this time - who FINALLY told me it was "Calvary" calling. Would not tell me more, would not say what "Calvary' was, why they were calling, how they got my number, etc. Would give me no other info. Wanted my phone number which I refused to give. Found this site, called back (got a different person), she confirmed the name & address for Calvery. Told her thanks, now I knew where to send my complaint. Thank you for the sample letter!!
- Armando| 1 replyI just got a call from them requesting another person. I followed the instructions and they said they will drop my name from their list.
- jg| 5 repliesI keep getting mulitple calls from this collection agency - Calvery Portfolio. I have had this number for over 9 years but they keep calling for someone I don't know. Two and three times each day with a prerecorded message that gives you no chance to get your number of their list. They should not be able to call wrong numbers repeatedly with a recording. You then have to take the time to remove yourself from their incorrect lists. I have called but no one has picked up.
