- KritchMy parents kept receiving calls at their house that were asking for me. My dad attempted to inquire what it was in regards to and they would not give him information which then got him worried I was being sued or something. The name of the company sounded like it could be a law firm but its said so fast, you really don't even know what they say otherwise I'd be typing it here.... Great and convenient of them!
So I called the number: 888-706-7106.
After a multitude of button pressing, I finally got on the phone with a woman named Stephanie. It's a debt collector service. So where to start... I know, Miss Stephanie.. A real gem when it comes to tactic and professionalism, stated that I have an outstanding speeding ticket from 2010 in Bluff City, Tennessee......... I told her that I never been and that I live in Connecticut. She then said that the camera shows that there is a Connecticut plate on the car, and proceeded to ramble off the license plate number. I said it could have been the plate that was stolen off my old car a few years back, in which was then cancelled at the time.
I told her than unforunately I didn't know that plate number was at this moment, as I'm at work. But regardless, none of that mattered to her anyway. As far as she was concerned... It was at one point my plate because its showing it was registered to me and therefore I need to pay this outstanding ticket.
I asked how fast was alledgely going? She said: 47 mph in a 45 mph zone...
You got to be kidding.....Sooo.... let's get this straight... A lowlife that took my plate, got caught in another state with it (via camera), but regardless of all that and the fact it was a bigger crime by STEALING the plate in the first place... They were only going 2 mph over the speed limit?? I stated, well that's clearly a scam by the town to make money! Seh asked if I was going to pay it again....
"Noooooo.. Sorry... Not going to happen." and when I said that (in an every so snarky way), I unleashed the beast within this Stephanie. She became nothing but rude and unprofessional. I couldn't believe someone could be so edgy so early in the day! But okay, I'll play the D-bag game! I proceeded to tell her that perhaps she should take a geography lesson and calculate how far Connecticut was to Tennessee. That I'd even let her cheat and let her look at a map. None of which went over well but I got myself chuckling on the inside and that in itself made my day.
In the end, we parted on not so good terms. I was told they will remove my number from the call list but we all know that won't happen as I stated I am refusing to pay and these people want the money and don't care who it's from.
Upon hanging up, I decided to research further on this Bluff City, TN. Turns out, I'm just a drop in the bucket for this place and the amount of tickets they hand out to individuals for speeding... There are alot of complaints and articles about people getting ticketed there with a traffic cam.
"The city’s controversial speed camera program began in January 2010. Between then and May 2011, the cameras issued 39,923 citations to drivers caught speeding along a 45-mph-zone on the highway that runs through the Piney Flats community. The sheer number of tickets and the $1.6 million worth of revenue generated for the city has prompted an outrage that’s reverberated across the state."
That paragraph right there shows how much of a money making scam this is and I'm stuck with someone else's ticket. These people want someone to pay, they don't care who they go after... Even if it was actually my car and someone else is driving it. They go by the plate and who it belonged to. Connecticut and Tennessee are not on the same data base in regards to getting points taken away from my license.. Or even... Having my insurance affected.. So I'm gonna let this keep going on as it doesn't affect my stuff anyway....- Caller: Wish I could tell you.. they say it far too fast

- laurieIt is from a law office that handles camera recorded traffic violations. The representative was very nice...right away she said she was removing my work number from the database. She explained who they were, and never once pressed me for payment. She did ask for my date of birth and address for confirmation, but immediately corrected herself and said not the date of birth, just a mailing address. She then gave the the web address to view the "violation" and the option to call back and let them know what I was going to do. It was clearly my car, and I had the option to pay from the website. It redirected me to my city website and it was easy to take care of.

- Sally DemingTried call this number back to tell them I am not the person they keep asking for in the many messages I have listened to. At last they called last night while I was home and I told the man on the other end to stop calling me and that I was not this person they keep asking for. The man laughed out loud and told me to have a nice night. I wanted to jump into the phone and kill someone.
