this is another one of those postcard promotions from Leslie Fashenberg (google it) in Tyler, TX... apparently now 'giving away' $250 Exxon gas and 2-night stays at Holiday Inn in exchange for sitting through a 90 minute vacation club presentation.  The other posts on 800Notes about Leslie Fashenberg are not good.  Stay away from this one!  You will just get a big run around.  Some guy even sued them and got $1000 in small claims court.  I'm ripping up this postcard as we speak.

    Grateful
I received one of those post cards. I figured it was a timeshare solitation with an offer of two nights at a Holiday Inn or $250 gas card.

I googled the number and this site came up. I am tossing the card without calling.

I received a postcard from this company as well.  However, no where on the card does it mention anything about a 90-minute presentation.  It states the following:

THOMAS THE DOUBTER, SIMPLY FOR CALLING AND PARTICIPATING IN A TWO MINUTE LIFE-STYLE SURVEY YOU WILL RECEIVE 2 NIGHTS ACCOMMODATIONS AT THE HOLIDAY INN OR HOLIDAY INN SELECT OF YOUR CHOICE.  CALL IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS AND RECEIVE $250 IN EXXON GASOLINE.

So, which is it:  two minutes of talking or 90 minutes of talking?!!  And how does this outfit know when calling within the "next 48 hours" regarding the offer of $250 of free gas begins and expires?

I'm glad I found this website and was able to offer my two-minutes worth!

    T.O.D.

    Thank God for the Internet!
With sites like this and the speed of the internet, how does this stuff even work anymore?  First thing I do is google a solicitation like this, and bam... All the information I need to keep from getting scammed!  I love the internet!

    Thanks

Out of curiosity I called the number.  I entered my claim number, they spelled my last name, and then looped me back to the prompt to enter my claim number.  I did this three times!

Not only is the promotion suspect (given the other posts here), but they can't even make their system work right.

I called the number and got through to someone.  They asked me a few questions and gave me a code to write on the postcard to mail back to claim my "prize".  I was then offered to go to a timeshare presentation where I could get more stuff...an extra $300 in Exxon and Round Trip Airfare to Orlando, Vegas or Reno along with Hotel Accomodations.  I told them my wife wasn't home and she'd be out of town for a week or so.  They said, no problem, mail the card back for my initial gift and call back when she is available to see her schedule.

We'll see if anything actually comes.  Only cost about 5 minutes of my time and $.42, so worth the risk, but not counting on it.

I am glad i googled and found this website: my experience with J. Marketing? I called the number 3-4 times, got routed back and forth trying to give the magic "claim number" to the system, and then the system finally hung up on me. They can't even get the phone calls and information routed correctly. This IS A SCAM! They don't intend to honor the postcard with the gifts stated; if so, they would have a working phone solicitation working correctly with operators who actually respond. Don't even bother to call this one...see all the comments noted below and you will get the drift. I hope J. Marketing sees all of this; they should be investigated by the Attorneys-general of the various states before this goes too far.

I received a post card in the mail from J. Marketing & RE claiming that all I had to do was "simply for calling and participating in a two minute life-style survey you will receive 2 Nights accomodations at the Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Select of your choice.  Call in the next 48 hours and receive $250 in Exxon Gasoline."  I called the number and after entering my Claim # it speeled my last name and then put me on hold for the next operator.  When the operator finally answered they would only say that if I put a 3-digit code next to my name on the post card and mailed the post card back, then they would send me something.  They would not say that it was the free gifts.

    Yes I called
Received the card today 8/7/08. Called and finally talked to some dude. He wanted to know if I was married and I stated that I was getting a divorce, which is not true. I know they are looking for married stupid people with money. Then he told me that If I mail the card with the HHG written on it I will receive the gifts. I am going to save my 42 cents.

I received the card today. I called the number .I answered a few question .Then they put me through to a so called rep. She immediately went into her sale pitch. I cut in a few times .Telling her I wasn't interested in buying anything. I read on the card you sent me .Telling me that I would get $250 gas gift card and 2 night stay in a hotel . I told her I did what the card said . That I wanted my free gifts. There was a short pause .Then she said ohhh my God what do I do now ! and she hung up. What an outfit. Don't call .

just had some fun with this. Called in and gave the survey it's allotted time, and when the operator came on, I answered one question truthfully, but not to her requirements.
Since I or my wife do not carry a major credit card, she did not even invite us to go to the timeshare or whatever seminar. I will however be keeping track on the 6-8 weeks for processing (I did ask about processing times) and will start harassment procedures if I do not get the promised items.

I called, answered the questions (tape recorded the conversation), sent in the card. I arranged the time share appointment (tape recorded the conversation), attended and rec'd my "gifts". I have kept a copy of everything and will hold them to the deals. If not, all of it gets presented to the Attorney General in the state they do business in. Never had a company refuse once they are involved.

Ditto here.  Received the postcard in June and called right away.  Listened to the short four question survey, received/wrote down the three letter code (HHG) and sent the card back as instructed.  I refused their request to talk at greater length.  I only wanted my promised free gifts of the $250 gas card and two nights stay at any Holiday Inn.  This was June 16, 2008.  Still waiting.  Luckily, I made a copy of the postcard that I returned.

How do we get the Texas AG involved and how do we get our promised gifts?  That's all I want!
