Caller ID shown was Santa Cruz CA and the recorded spiel was a female voice telling me something about my auto warranty going to expire or some such. I don't own an auto for one thing and my number isn't even listed. It's just a computer hacking away at random numbers with a bunch of lies. Doesn't it make you feel really special? (not!) I punched in option '2' to be taken off their list. That probably 'registers' as "A human answered...keep calling" Ick.

831-480-6326 - I didn't answer the phone, they didn't leave a message, I dialed *69 to get the no., I suspect based on earlier reports that it was about my car warranty. Previously, the last six months, I've  answered the phone and I get 3-4 calls every several days about my car warranty.  My car's warranty, according to my dealer, expires in 2011.  If this is legit it sounds as though someone is upselling insurance into the far, far future.  Asking  to be removed or pressing the "do not call button" doesn't accomplish a removal.  My car was purchased, used, from Kay Jennings in Springfield, VA.  Is it possible they have sold a car buyers list to an agency of telemarketers?

A recording about my expiring auto warranty, multiple [more than 10] times. They called my home, cell, and work phones. This last time, I pushed "1", got a person, and asked how the hell they got my cell phone number. The woman said, "From the devil" and hung up.

Automated dialer calling with a "special" offer. It's calling my GrandCentral account which only family has, so doubtful that it was on a marketing list...

called my work number.  automated message, so when my VM picked up it just started talking.  by the time it got to the "leave a message after the beep" part, it was almost done.  all i heard on my VM was something about my auto situation and press 1 to speak to a live rep, and press 2 to be removed from our list.

They called my work # too.  I pressed one, and when the woman came on, she asked for the year, make, and model of my car....I told her to tell ME, since THEY called me!  She hung up!  I also got one last week thru a different #.  206-569-0123.  Same thing....auto warranty.  Isn't this illegal?  I'm in CT and think I'm going to call Richard Blumenthal...our Atty. General.

I have been receiving calls from these people for months.  I block the number and they start using a new number.  I have filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call list.  I would recommend everyone do the same.  www.donotcall.gov

I had the same # call me offering the warranty! I used option #1 to speak with a person as if I was interested. A male sales rep answered the phone. He said "warranty dept." I said, I had a message that I needed to renew my warranty. He asked what the year make and model vehicle I have. When I said that I didn't own a vehicle, HE JUST HUNG UP!!!!!!

Recorded message with option to speak with someone about car warranties.  I told them I was registered on the Do Not Call Registry and was going to file a complaint.  They said I couldn't be listed since they called me!  Some logic!

Received a call today. It was the same mumbojumbo that everyone else has described. I got another call yesterday about renewing/extending a vehicle warranty. In fact I even received vehicle warranty offer in the mail from a company I'm choosing not to name or reveal their whereabouts. But I think it maybe is legitimate it gave an 800 number to call. But again I think the mail offer is probably bogus too.

Got these calls for several weeks.  Like people are saying, pushing 2 to be removed doesn't work.  Finally pressed 1 to speak with a rep.

Asked for company name and was told "Extended Warranty"  Said they were out of Florida and then hung up on me.

Hopefully we can get more info on these scam artists.  Please post a real number or name of company if you can nail them down.

I saw some people reported that the company behind this is Interstate National Dealer Services.  After checking out their web site and other publically available information, I found the following contact info:

CEO:  Shaun Fetherston,
President and COO: Cindy H. Luby
EVP, Marketing: Lawrence J. Altman
VP MIS: Gary Tavitian

Tel numbers: 516-228-8600 or (800) 621-2783

Address: 333 Earle Ovington Blvd. #700
              Uniondale, NY 11553

I called the 800 yesterday and spoke with a rep.  She wasn't too surprised about the automated calls and said there was another company using their numbers (kinda hard to believe that).  She took down my info and said they would investigate the repeated callbacks.  Even though she was located in NY, I asked if they have a group in Florida (as previous poster mentioned) and she said yes.

I wonder if these executives would tolerate this type of behavior if they received these phone calls.

Just wanted to contribute the fact that National Dealer is looking for telemarketrs here http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Jobs/J ... -268861460-VP-4

Can you believe their bs.  Most of the high volume calls has to be pissed off customers trying to get off their call list.  Someone should sign up and find out their pitch.

"Then, as an Inside Sales Associate, you will manage an abundant database of  prospects with ease and make a high volume of calls to these warm leads. Our Call Centers receive hundreds of inbound calls daily from interested prospects, too. Be part of a small team in our lively, collegial environment."
